To Arms!

There are youth in our community that are being deceived by untruths. Through peer pressure and false promises they are building unfulfilling, frustrating and often threatening lifestyles.

There are youth workers in our churches willing to equip and guide these youth toward the source of confidence, knowing who created them. But most of these young people have never been inside a church, and would not willing enter one.

Youth for Christ is equipped to interface with these teens for the purpose of guiding them into our churches. But even though there is a full time director in our community, he cannot meet enough young people to make a decided difference. He needs volunteers in various ways to be successful.

Would you consider being part of this effort to save our youth? Our Bradford Area YFC needs people who:

  1. Can pray regularly in an organized manner
  2. Can do intermittent clerical work
  3. Can assist at a weekly youth meeting or special event
  4. Can write grants
  5. Can be part of the decision process
  6. Can generate funds for increased staff, facilities, and promotions

To volunteer or to get more information contact our director Larry Petry at 366-1912 or one of our board members: Pastor Dave Bunnel at 368-4949, board president Dave Swaney at 368-3339, treasurer Jeff Weiss at 368-7664, Emery Lewis at 368-5529, or secretary Doug Lindquist dougl@yfcba.org. Our Mission

The mission of Youth for Christ is to participate in the body of Christ in responsible evangelism of youth, presenting them with the person, work and teachings of Christ and discipling them into the local church.

Our Vision

As part of the body of Christ, is to see every young person have the opportunity to make an informed decision to be a follower of Jesus Christ and become a part of a local church.

Board Meetings

We usually hold our monthly board meetings on the first Wednesday of the month at 5:30 PM. We meet at the First Baptist Church on Congress Street in Bradford. If you want to come and find out what we are about, or if you want to help out in some way, just let us know or show up at our meeting. It is that simple. We are currently looking for more board members and volunteers. Our next meeting is Wednesday December 3,2008.
